Qurram’s music to spice up Bilal, Urwa’s onscreen romance

Lahore-After the grand success of Qurram Hussain’s latest composition “BAGIYA”, another track of the JoSH band lead singer has been included in the upcoming musical romance, RANGREZA, to spice up the onscreen romance of Bilal Ashraf and Urwa Hocane.

This time, it’s a Qawaali titled “JANASHEEN” which would be unveiled next a week before the film’s release on December 21, 2017. Qurram aka Q has produced four albums for his JoSH band, jingles for a leading cell-phone company (SAMSUNG), a track for an Indian film and also a couple of OSTs for Pakistani dramas, but RANGREZA is his first Pakistani movie as music director and playback singer.

The Mahi Ve singer says that he wrote JANASHEEN a few years ago, and it is about being so much in love that that person becomes your whole world. “Because of this thought, I tried to try to produce it like a Qawaali, and I felt that would fit with the emotion of the song best,” he added.

Sharing the story of JANASHEEN’s inclusion in movie, Qurram said that when Amir Mohiuddin, the director of Rangreza, heard the track, he immediately took a liking to it, because he saw its perfect connection in Rangreza. That’s how things work sometimes, every inspiration is meant to connect with the right project.

Qurram also revealed that he had not produced a Qawwali style track before, so in order to do justice to it, he worked with a couple of great producers in Lahore Sohail Abbas and Imran Khalil, both of who had produced stuffs in this genre, so together they found a balance of the real essence of a Qawwali, and the slightly modern writing and sound that he wanted to achieve.
