Talking to The Nation, Pemra chairman Absar Alam said that the meeting was held in a very good atmosphere. “Sethi told me that he wanted to meet me. I invited him to my office where we discussed ways and means how to further promote cricket on electronic media and especially on radio, as cricket is the most followed sport in Pakistan and people from every age group and all walks of life spend hours to watch cricketers in action.”

“I offer him all-out support and promise that Pemra is already ensuring cricket should be properly covered besides other sports, while we will work in close relations with the PCB to ensure maximum coverage on electronic and radio channels.

“Sethi told me to come again with fresh ideas and discuss in detail various things which can help in promoting cricket. I assured him that we will cooperate with the PCB as much as we can, as it can further help in boosting morale of cricketers so that they may earn more and laurels for the country at international level,” Absar concluded.
