Govt to use all resources to restore UCH’s reputation: Aijaz Alam

Punjab Human Rights and Minorities Affairs (HR&MA) Minister Aijaz Alam Augustine has said that provision of medical facilities in hospitals across the country is the top priority of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.  

He said that the incumbent Punjab government would use all available resources to ensure the provision of treatment facilities in the missionary hospitals after the disappointing performance of the former government. 

Aijaz Alam Augustine expressed these views while speaking to the media after an important meeting at UCH Hospital co-chaired by Chief Justice (CJ) Justice Saqib Nisar, Chief Secretary (CS) Punjab Naseem Nawaz and Board members of UCH at UC Hospital.  

He said that there was a golden era of state-of-the-art UCH, when patients came from all over the country for treatment, but due to many reasons this hospital involved in many scandals. In the tenure of PTI government, all the measures will be taken to restore its lost reputation, he added. 

The provincial Minister said that he was grateful to the Chief Justice of Pakistan for special interest in UCH’s matters and formed a committee to solve the issues.  

Aijaz Alam Augustine said that the HR&MA department has started work to ensure the best facilities in the missionary hospitals across Punjab to ensure the protection of missionary hospitals.
