Dawat-e-Islami (DI) has cancelled its three-day International congregation that was to start from October 23 at Sehra-e-Madina in Sher Shah Town. We declare with profound regret that the congregation is being cancelled due to security reasons. The future schedule will be announced soon, said a DI spokesman on Saturday. The event was scheduled on October 23 and 25 and DI followers were expected to reach Multan from across Pakistan and different countries. The district administration was of the view that the prevailing law and order situation strongly suggested not to hold the programme as the terrorists could strike an easy target.
