LAHORE - Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif Saturday left for London for his medical check-up. The chief minister was earlier scheduled to proceed to London on October 15 but he postponed his visit on account of terrorist attacks in the City. Before leaving for London, the chief minister also inspected Ring Road Package-7 near Lahore Airport and directed for its timely completion. He said this project was the Gate of Lahore, therefore, it should be made more and more beautiful so that the passengers visiting Lahore Airport should get a good impression. He said besides installation of modern lights, extensive tree plantation should be carried out. On this occasion, concerned authorities briefed him about the pace of work on the project. The commissioner Lahore Division and DCO Lahore were also present. equipment auctioned Open auction of unserviceable medical equipment took place at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital here Saturday. The members of Auction Committee and the media men were also present on the occasion. A total 11 bidders participated in the auction process. The highest bid was offered by the Saeed and Company. A senior member of auction committee and the Additional Medical Superintendent Dr Mohammad Asim said the auctioned equipments were 15-25 years old, which were declared unserviceable by the government workshop. These items included ventilator, succor machine, cardiac monitor and anaesthesia machine etc.
