ISLAMABAD  - So-called ‘affectees’ of Sector G-14 have forcefully halted the development work in the sector, spreading anxiety among the allottees. Process of award to the affectees of the sector is delayed as Islamabad High Court (IHC) was investigating a case of fake houses in the sector by some land mafia persons to allegedly mint money as compensation money. The affectees were creating hurdles in the development work to pressurise the foundation to get the money.

According to sources, Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation gave contract to National Construction Company for the development work of Sector G-14/2 and 3. The construction company shifted the machinery to the sites, but the foundation did not establish a police post or deployed Rangers in the area, despite its promise to provide security to the company.

In this regard, an employee of the construction company said that providing security to them was the responsibility of the housing foundation.

While, the foundation officials said that they had written to the deputy commissioner to deploy Rangers or police in the area for security and now the responsibility rested with the district government.

It is relevant to mention here that the commission of the IHC comprising Chaudhry Mazhar Minhas has started inquiry into the complaints of presence of fake houses in G-14/2 and 3 to get compensation money and recording the statement of the concerned persons on daily basis. He visited the site and retrieved the relevant data from google. The inquiry report would be submitted in the IHC till October 31 on which the court will decide the award of the compensation money.

Allottees of the sector appealed to the chief commissioner to take strict action against the persons involved in the development work.
