KARACHI - CID police claimed to have arrested the chief of Lashkar-e-Jhangwi from Patel Para Football ground, within the remits of Jamshed Quarter police station.Addressing a Press conference at CID Civil Line office, CID AIG Ghulam Shabbir Sheikh said CID police on a tip off conducted a raid near Football ground, Patel Para and after the exchange of fire police arrested Ameer Hafiz Qasim Rasheed. Police also recovered a Kalashnikov, TT pistol and a hand grenade from his possession.Shabir Sheikh said that the arrested culprit was involved in killing of at least 100 Shias, including former MPA of MQM Raza Hyder, Advocate Mirza Waqar Hussain, vice Principle of Polytechnic College, Nazimabad Imran Zaidi, close friends of Allama Abbas Kumali namely Shahzad, Naseer Hussain and others.He added that a hit list of killing was also recovered from his possession. Sheikh claimed that the culprit belongs to Attaur Rehman alias Naeem Bukhari group and confessed to have killed over 35 people.Sheikh said Sindh government had already announced Rs0.5 million reward money for his arrest and his name was included in the Red Book of Sindh Police.It is pertinent to mention here that CID police already arrested another chief of LJ couple of weeks ago namely Baber alias Dorki and booked him in all major sectarian cases.These accused have already been arrested earlier and detained in jail for several years but released on bail because of the insufficient evidences.Meanwhile, Highway police foiled the snatching of a truck carrying cars from National Highway within the precincts of Sohrab Goth police station.National highway and motorway police raided on a tip-off and sized a truck.Police arrested the driver of the truck Ghulam Nabi while his two accomplices managed to flee during exchange of fire. Police said that bandits snatched the truck and tortured the driver Shahid and threw him in the bushes after tiding his hands and legs. Police arrested the truck driver and sized 13 cars into custody and handed over the cars and accused person to the police. On the other side, Special Investigation Unit (SIU) claimed to have arrested bandits involved in bank robberies from Hub River Road.SIU police said that they raid and arrested the culprit namely Rustam alias Karim and recovered a TT pistol from his possession. The culprit confessed to have robbed four banks with his accomplices. They had looted Rs 5.3 million from a private bank situated in Rizvia, Rs 2 million within the remits of Shahra-e-Faisal, Rs 4.4 million from Nazimabad area and Rs 3.2 million from Saeedabad area. Culprits were also involved in car snatching and other robberies.\
