RAWALPINDI - The Punjab Emergency Service (PES) Rescue 1122 on Wednesday inaugurated Emergency Rescue Station at Kalma Chowk (Bakramandi) to provide the most efficient response to different emergencies occurred at congested areas.

The congested areas included Dhamial Road, Bakramandi, Dhoke Seydan, Baraf Khana, Charkri Road and its suburbs, and Chungi Number 22. The Emergency Rescue Station was inaugurated by Hanzala Malik, Member of Scotland Parliament during a ceremony as a chief guest. Director General (DG) Rescue 1122 Dr Rizwan Naseer, representatives of Fire & Safety Association of Pakistan (FSAP), Dr Abdur Rahman, district emergency officer, and other notable were also present.

Speaking on the occasion, Hanzala Malik said that Emergency Service Rescue 1122 was the best service of Pakistan which was providing service to the community not only in their relevant field rather these rescuers were working for other campaigns like dengue eradication, education of community related emergency and disaster and building safety standards.

“We people provide our assistance to Rescue 1122 because we know this help is directly reaching at ground level through dynamic leadership of Dr Rizwan Naseer, Director General, Rescue Service,” he added. DG Rescue 1122, Dr Rizwan Naseer briefed about the 8 years performance of life saving service, who have rescued over 1.5 million victims of emergencies across the Punjab.

He said that a comprehensive system of emergency response has been established which includes emergency ambulance, rescue, fire, disaster response and community safety services. He paid rich tribute to the rescuers, who lost their lives in the line of duty to save others.

The DG also paid special thanks to son of soil and Scottish parliamentarian Hanzala Malik for continuous support and contribution in establishing first modern fire service in Pakistan on advanced lines through professional training and donation of emergency vehicles.

Later, the chief guest and Dr Rizwan distributed the appreciation certificates to the deep well national rescue challenge team of Rawalpindi division. Dr Rizwan Naseer Presented honorary shield to Hanazala Malik on behalf of PES.  Earlier, Dr Abdur Rahman Rawalpindi presented performance of Rescue 1122, and highlighted initiatives taken by Emergency Service Rawalpindi.
