LAHORE – The Young Doctors Association (YDA) Punjab took out a rally from the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) to the Shadman Chowk on Wednesday to press for the demand of revised service structure and cancellation of murder case against Mayo Hospital doctors.

Carrying placards and banners inscribed with the demand of revised service structure, young doctors of the PIC held a demonstration outside the health facility and marched to the Shadman Chowk, causing a massive traffic jam on the Jail Road and adjoining arteries at peak hours.

Led by YDA PIC President Dr Amer Bandesha, young doctors chanted slogans in favour of their demands and against the Punjab government. Dr Bandesha vowed to continue protest until the announcement of service structure and cancellation of FIR against doctors.

He said that the YDA would stage a sit in outside the Chief Minister House on October 7 if legitimate demands of medical community were not accepted. As per the schedule, the YDA will hold protest demonstration in Bahawalpur on Thursday (today).
