NAB arrests man in Rs350m scam

ISLAMABAD - NAB has arrested on Friday an accused Muhammad Saqib of M/s Global Concerns in a Rs 350 million case of Mudarba scam.
The accused Mufti Saqib and Mati-ur-Rehman in connivance with another accused persons allegedly cheated public at large in the name of Mudarba business and deprived them of millions of rupees.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi has so far received 201 claims in this case amounting to Rs 350 million. During the inquiry it transpired that the accused person in connivance with each other induced public at large to invest the amount in their Global Concerns’ illegal Mudarba/Musharika business against attractive profits and thus looted the general public. NAB has recovered Rs 7.3 million in this case.
Saqib was produced before the Accountability Court Islamabad the same day. The court has granted 14-day physical remand of the accused to NAB Rawalpindi for further investigation.
It is pertinent to mention here that the main accused in this Modaraba case, Mati-ur-Rehman, is already in judicial custody at Adyala Jail Rawalpindi.
