KARACHI-International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, will organise a one-day seminar on ‘Science and Society - Science Communication and Public Engagement’ on October 19 at its Prof Salimuzzaman Siddiqui Auditorium.
A senior official of the ICCBS said the seminar is being organised by Pakistan Biotechnology Information Center (PABIC).
It will consist of lectures by renowned scientists and senior journalists, including Prof Dr Shakil Farooqi, Department of Genetics, senior journalist, Nizam-ud-Din, Dr Sardar Nazish of Jinnah University and Director ICCBS Prof Dr M Iqbal Choudhary. The concluding session will include question and answer session and discussion.
This skill development session will be an opportunity for young journalists/students of mass communication/faculty members, researchers to learn about the role of science communications and science journalism by eminent scholars and journalists.
The first session will start at 10:00 am with the lecture of Director ICCBS Prof Dr M Iqbal Choudhary.
