Every morning on my way to college, I witness a sight that leaves me in great anguish. I see clean water being wasted because the pipelines through which it is brought are damaged. As a result, the water leaks through the pipelines and forms puddles on the road. This is really unfortunate because a lot of areas in Kech do not receive an adequate amount of clean drinking water, as things are. What is even more saddening is that, about 140 kilometres away, the much touted city of Gwadar is facing an acute water crisis.

I request the government to take this issue seriously and carry out immediate repair programmes. Water is a necessity and it is the job of the authorities to ensure that an adequate amount of clean water is supplied to the people.
