Information and Broadcasting Minister Fawad Chaudhry has said that the ousted prime minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s corruption has risen to 1.2 billion dollars and the minister labelled him the former PM as ‘the king of corruption.’
The minister said that there was not a single project, that the PML-N began, which was free of corruption. “His corruption infamy is so magnified that it was being talked about everywhere, in and out of the country,” Fawad said.
He said that the people are now demanding to accumulate his entire corruption story as they are getting bored of seeing separate episodes of his uttermost dishonesty. He was expressing his opinions while talking to the press after cabinet meeting on Thursday.
Fawad said that earlier it was said that Nawaz Sharif had swallowed up 40 to 50 billion dollars, but now the fresh cases have surfaced and it is foreseen that the quantum of corruption stood at much more than it was previously measured. “The ‘corruption cost’ could be as much as Rs. 200 billions,” he said.
He said that this does not include the corruption committed by Shehbaz Sharif. “His corruption scandals are not a part of the scams committed by Nawaz Sharif and his cronies,” Fawad said. He said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz have no grace, otherwise they should have shut themselves in a room for years for their black deeds.
He said that he felt strange after seeing them talking on TV channels and in the national assembly shamelessly without feeling any repent or regret for what they did with the nation and the state.
The information minister further blasted strongly over the former ruling elite holding them responsible for the present economic mayhem. He vowed to catch the real culprits and put them behind the bars.
