KARACHI Korangi Alfateh Cricket Club were the first to enter the quarter-finals of the fifth NBP-KCCA Premier League Cricket here on Friday after defeating Tapal Cricket Club by seven runs in their Group D match of the event. Brilliant century by Wajid Ali, who scored 133 with the help of 10 boundaries and two sixes, was the main feature of the closely-contested match. In the another match, Pakistan Cricket Club defeated Asifabad Sports by 41 runs. Fine batting by Akbarur Rehman, who scored 92 with five fours and two sixes, and Test wicketkeeper batsman Sarfraz Ahmed, 53 with three fours and a six, was the main feature of the match which was played at RLCA Gulberg. In the last match of the day, Alamgir Gymkhana beat Malir Companion Cricket Club by two wickets at RLCA Korangi. Abdullah Shah displayed all-round performance as he bowled well and got four wickets for 50 runs and then batted brilliantly with 72 runs with the help of six boundaries and a six.
