Protests on KP CMs visit to Abbottabad

ABBOTTABAD (INP) Thousands of Hazara Province Movement workers staged protest demonstrations across the region as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti visited Abbottabad on Saturday. The call for the protests was given by head of the movement Haider Zaman. Thousands of workers led by Haider Zaman gathered at Fawara Chowk on early Saturday morning, raising slogans and staging dharna in support of their demands for a separate Hazara province. Tension was high in the city since morning and as the time passed by the workers of the movement started indulging in violence. They set on fire two vehicles and damaged properties. Across Hazara, members of the movement set up barricades on Karakoram Highway, burnt tyres and blocked all types of traffic on the highway. As a result, the highway was closed for traffic by the authorities. While thousands of people were stranded, hundreds of trucks were seen parked along the roads to carry goods to Gilgit, Skardu and other parts of the Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
