All set for Int’l Hindko Conference in November

PESHAWAR – The second International Hindko Conference will be held on November 17 and 18 under the auspices of Gandhara Hindko Board.The decision was taken at a special executive committee meeting of the Literary, Cultural and Social Welfare Organisation, which was presided over by vice chairman of the board, Dr Salahuddin.General Secretary of the board and known Hindko writer, poet and researcher, Ziauddin Siddiqui, updated the participants on the measures taken so far for holding the conference in a befitting manner. He said Governor Masood Kausar would be invited to the inaugural ceremony as chief guest while CM Ameer Haider Hoti was expected to attend the concluding ceremony.The participants of the meeting were informed that apart from locals, Hindko literati from England, United States, Canada and Italy had confirmed participation in the event to date while writers from another two countries were also expected to turn up at the moot. Reception, cultural, media and logistics committees were set up.  The members of the committees were tasked with responsibilities accordingly. The participants of the meeting gave a go ahead to the printing of six books on various genres of the Hindko. All the books would be published by the end of 2012, putting the tally of the books published by the board at 46.  They also hailed the provincial govt for extending financial support to the board for organising the conference.Meanwhile, All Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shaheed Rab Nawaz Memorial Football Tournament started at Tehmas Khan Football Stadium here on Monday. A total of 34 teams are participating in the event. Former Nazim Peshawar Haroon Bilour was the chief guest who formally inaugurated the tournament where in teams from all across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are taking part.
