LAHORE – The provincial metropolis received heavy rain on Monday, bringing about a pleasant change in the weather, though the citizens had to face serious traffic jams especially in the low-lying areas because of the rainwater.

The Met Office stated that the City received 50mm rain, while the temperature fell to 25 degree Celsius after the heavy shower on Monday night. The rain in the provincial capital started early morning and continued with small intervals throughout the day.

The citizens residing in low-lying areas had to face the problem of overflowing sewerage lines, which restricted them to their houses. During the shower in the night, serious traffic jams were witnessed in parts of the City, especially the low lying areas.

The people also faced power breakdowns because of electricity faults of various types in almost every part of the City. The Met Office has forecast more rains in the provincial metropolis, besides other parts of Punjab in the next 24 hours.
