CPO calls for projecting police image by dint of hard work

WAZIRABAD - Gujranwala CPO Abdul Razzaq Cheema observed on Monday that elimination of crimes by the dint of hard work of the Police Department would help project its positive image before the public. In his address during an open court, the CPO called for stern action against offenders of the law. The ranks were the sign of responsibility, he affirmed, adding that complaints against rough attitude of police officials could be made that would be responded accordingly. The CPO further said that police should work for the betterment of society and avoid nepotism. “Police are bound to arrest disloyal people who never honour social, moral, and religious values.” He however assured that police would react on any resistance from anti-social elements. “Although police are responsible for provision of justice to the needy people but provision of complete justice was impossible anywhere in the world because the evidence was an important factor in any case.”Cheema said the Police Investigation Cell in Gujranwala was now pressure-free. He also noted that the ranks were always the sign of responsibility that made officers lenient or brave. He added that the efficiency of police could not be marvelous without the cooperation and friendship of the public. “This is not necessary that the persons nominated in an FIR be arrested. If accused himself come to Police Station to clear his position then he will be given full opportunity even repeatedly and will not be arrested unless proved guilty.” Later, CPO Cheema heard the grievances of complainants and passed order for remedy. Some notables gave some suggestions of different sorts for betterment in the social order.Earlier SHO Muhammad Ashfaq Pehalwan recited a verse from the Holy Quran.
