LAHORE – District Coordination Officer (DCO) Noorul Amin Mengal said the elimination of dengue larva in the current monsoon season was necessary and the entire staff of anti-dengue campaign should focus on larvae’s elimination in their respective areas.

He directed the cantonment board administration to make ensure better arrangement in the board and no negligence be shown in this regard. He expressed these views while chairing a meeting at Cantonment Board on Monday, MPA Kh Suleman Rafiq, EDO Health, Assistant Commissioner, DDO Health, officials of Wasa, PHA and TMA were present on the occasion. Mengal directed the officials to remain present in the field in spite of sitting in their offices. He said the working activity of the officials would be checked on daily basis and mobile sets were being handed over the employees.

Now their daily activity in Anti-Dengue Campaign and their location would be inspected, Mengal added. He showed his dissatisfaction over anti dengue arrangements in cantonment board area. He further stated that he would not tolerance any mistake by any official in this regard. The DCO said traders were the backbone of the country economy and the traders of Lahore had played a prominent role in this regard.

He expressed these views while visiting Urdu Bazaar Lahore and having meeting with traders on Monday afternoon. Mengal listened the problems faced by Urdu Bazaar Traders and announced that roads would be repaired and constructed. He also said that foot paths would be made on both side of the road and encroachment would be eliminated.

On the occasion he directed TMO to have full coordination with traders and to depute three TMA officials for cleanliness purpose. DCO, Lahore also appreciated the role of Urdu Bazaar traders in publishing material of Anti-Dengue for the awareness of students. Moreover, traders also thanked DCO for visit and appreciated his matchless officership in Lahore city.
