OKARA - Hundreds of residents of Hussain Colony protested against the out of order transformer and worst power outage here the other day. The protesters blocked the road by burning tyres.On the occasion, they lamented that the Lesco indifference had forced the residents to leave in darkness. They were of the view that electric transformer of the area had burnt due to rains and despite repeated requests and complaints, the officials concerned failed to either repair it or replace it. They demanded the authorities concerned to take notice of the criminal negligence of the Lesco officials and take a stern action against them. They also demanded repair or replacement of the electric transformer forthwith.NEW MS SPELLS PRIORITIES: The newly posted DHQ Hospital MS Dr Mohammad Abbas Qari has started performing duty after assuming his office here the other day. Prior to this assignment, he was performing duty in Mayo Hospital Lahore. Later, talking to the media, the DHQ MS said that the doctors and paramedical staff should perform their duties with responsibilities and dedication. He warned that negligence would not be tolerated and that there was no place for worker shirkers in the hospital.He also directed the paramedical staff to keep up standard of cleanliness besides polite and friendly behaviour with the patients.
