KARACHI  - Karachi Water Board has delayed operation against illegal hydrants due to uncertain law and order situation in the city.According to KWB Chief Engineer Iftikhar Ahmed, at least 117 illegal hydrants have been pointed out in various localities of Karachi, including Korangi, Landhi, Malir, Bhains Colony, Gulistan-e-Johar Federal B area, Nazimabad, Mangopir and Orangi Town.Earlier, it was announced to start operation against illegal hydrants at 10am on Monday but the operation was delayed due to poor law and order situation in the city.Meantime, during survey of KWB, the water mafia smelling the rat has already wrapped up the operation and disappeared.It should be mentioned that KWB has already banned illegal hydrants in the city due to which citizens have to face severe shortage of water especially in Industrial areas.
