SIALKOT - The Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) announced formulation of a “Monitoring Wing” to monitor safety and fire-fighting measures in all the PRGMEA-affiliated factories and industrial units across the country.PRGMEA Chief Coordinator Ijaz Khokhar said that the association’s monitoring wing would monitor all its affiliated factories and industrial units and would re-issue the membership certificates after evaluation of their working conditions.He said that the decision had been taken in the aftermath terrible fire incidents in Karachi and Lahore to avert any such tragedy in the future. He said that the monitoring wing would be established in PRGMEA Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Sialkot and other offices soon. He also urged the Federal government to evaluate the inspection levels for the big, medium and small-size industrial units.Seven teachers suspended: EDO Education Sajjad Aslam Kahiloun suspended seven male and female teachers for not effectively taking part in the anti-dengue campaign.The teachers are: Ashfaq Ahmed, Muhammad Munir, Sajjad Hussain, Abdul Razzaq and Ishtiaq (Govt Boys High School Mundeyki Goraya-Daska, Nazia Ashraf, Wajeeha Akram (Govt Girls High School Lorhiki-Daska).The low cadre employees Amanat Ali, Muhammad Younas, Abdul Sattar, Muhammad Sadiq, Muhammad Arif and Nawab Din for not taking anti-dengue measures in their respective schools. The EDO also ordered a departmental probe against them.8,000 get assistance under BISP: The federal government distributed Rs282 million amongst 8,000 deserving and poor families of Shakargarh Tehsil under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP). Local PPP MNA Ch Tariq Anees disclosed while addressing the participants of a ceremony held to distribute financial assistance cheques amongst deserving people at Shakargarh under the BISP.Journalists join profane movie protest: The local journalists community took out a rally against the release of a blasphemous movie here on Monday. The rally began from Sialkot Press Club and culminated at Allama Iqbal Chowk after passing through different city roads.The participants were holding banners and placards and chanted anti-US and Israel slogans.Press Club Chairman Anwar Hussain Bajwa and General Secretary Mian Naeem Iqbal jointly led the rally.On the occasion, the protesting journalists unanimously passed a resolution, demanding severing all ties with the US to lodge protest against the blasphemous movie. They also demanded stern measures to avert such occurrence which had hurt the sentiments of the entire Muslim Ummah.
