‘Rapist’ held, claim Kasur police

KASUR - Kasur police claimed to have arrested the accused of raping a 6-year-old girl here the other day. Police said the victim girl has recognised the accused.
Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif had taken notice of the incident and ordered Kasur police to ensure arrest of the accused.
At a news conference here Tuesday, Kasur DPO, Muhammad Saleem said that the accused kidnapped the victim girl on Monday and later abandoned her after subjecting her to rape. The locals took the victim to DHQ Hospital in a critical condition and reported the matter to police. He said an FIR was launched in this context.
He said a police team headed by DSP Hassan Danial and SHO Malik Tariq was constituted that managed to trace out 25-year-old accused Islam alias Kaka. He said that the police team also recovered a knife the accused had used to scare the victim girl.
