ISLAMABAD - Expressing deep sympathies with the grieved families, the National Assembly on Tuesday passed a resolution condemning the attack on Army officers in Upper Dir.

“This House strongly condemns the attack on Major Gen Sanaullah Niazi, Lt Col Tauseef, Lance Naik Iran Satar, and soldiers Yasir and Ghaffar of Baloch regiment of Pakistan Army,” said a resolution moved by Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs.

The resolution saluted the bravery and courage of Pakistani Armed Forces and vows to back them in their efforts to protect the country.

“The House calls upon the govt to recognise their sacrifices and come out in full support of the Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism,” says a resolution.

The resolution was signed by lawmakers Sheikh Aftab Ahmed, Shah Mehmood Quereshi, Amjad Ali Khan, Shafqat Mehmood, Nabil Gabol, Shireen Mazari, Imran Zafar Leghari, Aijaz Hussain Jhakrani, Shazia Marri, Nafisa Shah, Azra Fazal Pechuho, Syed Naveed Qamar, Asad Umar, and Dr Raja Amer Zaman.

PPP’s lawmaker Shazia Marri, on a point of order, said that opposition parties have decided to adopt a resolution to strongly condemn the recent attack on Pakistan Army officer in Upper Dir. “All opposition parties include PPP, MQM, PTI and JI have decided to make a resolution to strongly condemn this incident through House,” she added.

Earlier, the opposition parties members wrote the resolution with consensus during the proceedings of the house.
