SRINAGAR: Indian police arrested the Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Aasiya Andrabi, in Srinagar for waving the Pakistani flag on August 14 and addressing a rally.
The police took Aasiya Andrabi into custody during house raids in Soura area of Srinagar. She has been detained in a women’s police station in Rambagh.
Separately, Indian troops, in their fresh act of state militancy, killed two young people in Bandipore district today. The two were killed during a violent siege during the search operations at Kanzalwan in Gurez area of the district.
An official of the Indian army claimed that the youth were militants and were killed in an encounter.
