District & Sessions Judge of Bahawalpur Rana Masood Akhter has said in a couple of weeks, seven judges would be posted while a sum of Rs4.1 million has been sanctioned for the construction of boundary wall of the court premises here.
He also disclosed that seven more civil judges would be appointed in AhmedpurEast within a couple of weeks. He was addressing ceremony hosted by of Tehsil Bar Association Ahmedpur East in the honour of newly appointed Additional and Sessions Judge Imtiaz Nadeem and outgoing civil judges Zaheer Baloch and Chaudhry Nawaz in bar room.
Tehsil Bar Association Secretary General Khawaja Shaees Amjad Hussein hosted the ceremony while its president Sardar Nazar Hussein Aslam presented welcome address.
The D&SJ told the lawyers that he had got approval of the amount from the chief justice of Lahore High Court while seven new civil judges would take charge of their responsibilities so the pending cases be disposed on merit.
He said that the administration would be asked to install walk-through gates to enter the court premises. He stressed bar-bench cooperation and appreciated Tehsil Bar Association for awarding life time honorary bar membership to the outgoing civil judges.
Rana Masood hoped that after the induction of third additional session judge in Ahmedpur East and posting of more seven civil judges, the lawyers’ demands have been fulfilled.
Newly-appointed Additional and Sessions Judge Imtiaz Nadeem thanked the TBA for hosting the welcome party and told the audience that earlier he served as lawyer for five years.
He assured the lawyers that cases would be decided purely on merit. The ceremony was attended by additional session judges Shahid Bashir, Faisal Raza Gillani, civil judges and lawyers.
STRIKE: The Tehsil Bar Association announced to observe two-day strike as a protest against the registration of a “false” case against former District Bar Association president Imtiaz Awan and other lawyers. TBA President Nazar Hussein condemned the “humiliating” behaviour of Additional District Collector Imrana Amjal and demanded her immediate transfer.
Eid celebrations: Bahawalpur National Awami Party (BNAP) Chairman Nawab Salahuddin Abbasi and his son Bahawal Abbas Abbasi will celebrate Eidul Azha at Sadiq Garh Palace Dera Nawab Sahib.
The two leaders and their family members will stay for a week at the palace.
They will offer their Eid prayers at Royal Eidgah Dera Nawab Sahib and meet people representing all walks of life in BNAP Secretariat. They will visit Royal graveyard of Fort Derawar to offer Fateha and lying of floral wreaths on the graves of Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Khamis Abbasi and Nawab Abbas Khan Abbasi.
