Homicide Investigation Unit begins work

KASUR-: The Homicide Investigation Unit has started functioning in Kasur which will go a long way towards elimination of heinous crimes.
With the establishment of this unit, now people, especially the victims of crimes will be provided justice without delay.
The Homicide Investigation Unit has been set up on the directives of the Punjab Inspector General of Police. District Police Officer Kasur Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi stated during a meeting with Homicide Unit officials here the other day.
He said that investigation officers of good repute have been selected for posting at the unit who have been imparted extensive training at Police Lines Kasur. “The training mainly focused on investigation on scientific lines, ways to protect crime scene and forwarding the cases to courts after fulfilling legal formalities,” DPO Rizvi pointed out, adding that every officer would investigate 20 homicide cases in a year. The District Police Officer said that every investigation officer would be paid 60 percent on submission of challan in court.
The concerned circle officer would be in-charge of his unit and DSP Circle would supervise the investigation process, he added. Mr Rizvi informed that state-of-the-art investigation kits have been provided to the officers to enable them to carry out their work in a more appropriate way. He hoped that using their best abilities, the police would work with devotion to provide justice to the victims.
