LAHORE - A judicial magistrate Thursday granted bail to actress Meera in dual Nikah case after her counsel Latif Khosa deposited Rs50,000 surety bond.
Earlier, the actress was held in court custody for 35 minutes as punishment for her absence despite several court orders.
The court also directed the police to produce Attequr Rehman, her former husband, and adjourned the hearing until Oct 1.
Ateeq-ur-Rehman had filed application against her for marrying another man, Captain Naveed, without getting divorce from him.
In July, the court had issued non-bailable warrants for Meera after she failed to appear before the judge in dual marriage case. The court had also ordered that Meera should be arrested and presented in court on September 17.
Meera, like Ayyan Ali who is facing money smuggling case, hired Khosa Law Chambers as her counsel.
