LAHORE - A speedy car crushed to death a 65-year-old man and wounded another two in Bhati Gate as the vehicle ran over a footpath where they were sleeping, eyewitness said Thursday.

Police said the accident took place because of over speeding as the driver lost his control and the car rammed into footpath in the limits of Bhati Gate police. As a result, a 65-year-old man died on the spot while two others were rushed to hospital with serious injuries. Police are yet to ascertain the identities of the victims.

The car driver fled the crime scene. The police have impounded the vehicle and are investigating with no arrest made yet.
