Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal said that the opponents should respect the mandate given by the public to the PML-N to eradicate terrorism, unemployment and loadshedding.

He was addressing different delegations of local notables, traders and party workers in Narowal. He added that most of the national problems were being resolved, saying that the government would not disappoint the nation.

He said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa wanted to have a chief minister like Shehbaz Sharif in KPK. He noted that he recently visited KPK and the local people expressed that desire. He said that the people of KPK were now repenting for giving vote to Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI).

He said that the government would continue the economic development agenda to put the country on the path to economic stability. He narrated that the government’s “effective and positive” policies were bearing fruit and the national economy was moving towards stability. He reaffirmed to complete the economic development agenda of the PML-N.

He claimed that the economy was moving in the right direction, saying that the country needed development for continuous economic growth. He reviewed the pace of construction works of different development projects in Narowal.

MPAs Khawaja Waseem Butt, Rana Manan Khan, DCO Syed Najaf Iqbal, PML-N Narowal President Malik Tariq Awan and Markazi Anjuman Tajraan President Muzamal Hafeez Babar were also present.

Founders’ Group wins all SCCI Associate Class seats: The ruling Ittehad Founders’ Group yesterday won all the five Associate Class seats during annual elections of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).

Of the total of 1,779 registered Associate Class votes, 810 votes were cast in the election held on Thursday. According to SCCI Election Commissioner Sheikh Naveed Iqbal, Maj (r) Mansoor Ahmed, Adnan Arshad Sethi, Mian Babar Ali, Ashir Elahi and Umer Khalid against opposition’s Mirza Ayaz Baig, Muhammad Iqbal Asad, Zarar Ahmed Dar, Rehan Bin Tahir Mughal and Muhammad Tahir Siddique were elected as members of SCCI Associate Class with a big margin.

The polling was held at SCCI in a peaceful and transparent manner.

Greeting the winners, Group Leader Riazud Din Sheikh announced that the Ittehad Founders Group has made a clean sweep in both the Corporate Class and Associate Class.

Ruling Ittehad Founders Group knocked out rival Democratic Founders Group in annual elections of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), which completed on Thursday.
