Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has strongly condemned attack on PAF Badaber air base saying the terrorists cannot shake our resolve through dastardly acts.

He said, “we are proud of martyrdom of valiant youths like Capt Asfand Yar and their sacrifices will not be allowed to go waste. Operation Zarb-e-Azb will continue till the elimination of the last terrorist. The entire nation stands behind the armed forces.”

Sources said interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan called on PM Nawaz Sharif today after the militant attack on PAF airbase in Peshawar. During the meeting they exchanged views on internal security situation of the country, including terrorists attack on airbase.

Both the leaders denounced the terrorist attack on the airbase and reiterated the resolve to continue operation Zarb-e-Azb and actions under National Action Plan (NAP), till the eradication of terrorism from the country.

Sources said that Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan apprised the PM of the role played by the law enforcement agencies during the terrorist attack on the PAF airbase in Badaber area saying the terrorist attack reflects a defeated mindset. "Success of security forces is the best precedent of their professional skill and preparations," he added, "Security forces have proved by thwarting the terrorists’ attack that our armed forces remain ready to face every challenge."

Both the leaders paid tribute to Capt Asfand Yar Bokhari who was martyred during attack on the airbase.

According to sources, interior minister informed the PM about the operation against criminal elements in Islamabad and took him into confidence on raids conducted on the Deras of Imtiaz Khokhar alias Taji Khokhar and other land mafia. The PM said that the operation should continue indiscriminately against criminal elements for weeding out terrorism from the country.
