CJP takes notice of death of 10-year Aimal in Karachi

The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Justice Saqib Nisar has taken the notice of death of 10-year-old Aimal hit by a stray bullet during a police encounter in Akhtar Colony of the metropolis.

The bullet fired from AK-47 by a policeman attempting to kill a bandit, who had robbed the family of 10-year-old Aimal waiting at traffic light to attend a concert on the eve of Independence Day, hit her which resulted in her death.

Parents of the deceased raised the issue and it came into media highlight, the CJP took suo moto notice, and fixed the matter for hearing on September 25.

Notices have been sent to Advocate General, Secretary Health, and Inspector General of Police in this regard.

A notice has also been sent to Administrator National Medical Centre Karachi, where Aimal was initially taken for medical treatment.
