Islamabad- Chinese President Xi Jinping 's upcoming visit to Pakistan, will map out strategic arrangements and a long-term plan for the future development of China-Pakistan relations, Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong said.

President Xi will pay a state visit to Pakistan tomorrow at the invitation of Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The two-day visit will be his first trip to the South Asian country, since he assumed the presidency in 2013.

The Chinese have invented a unique name "Iron Pak" for Pakistan, a vivid description for the unshakable ties between the two countries, the Chinese ambassador told in an interview.

Islamabad rendered tremendous support to Beijing at critical moments in the last century when China sought to break the external blockade, restore its lawful seat at the United Nations and realize the normalization of ties with the United States.

China, for its part, was the first country to offer assistance when Pakistan was hit by a catastrophic flood in 2010, and most recently, a Chinese naval vessel helped Pakistan evacuate 176 nationals from war-torn Yemen, said the Chinese ambassador.
