ISLAMABAD - The Establishment Division has started working on the preparation of a high-powered board of promotion that will be held at the end of this month, The Nation has learnt.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will chair the board and the participants would include secretary to PM, secretary establishment division and secretary cabinet. Sources in the establishment division informed this scribe that seven to nine vacancies of grade-22 were vacant and government wanted to fill these posts without wasting any time. Sources said that establishment division asked all the groups to submit reports of grade-21 officers. In this regard most of the departments have submitted the nominations. Sources said that majority of officers going to be promoted in upcoming board belong to Pakistan Services Group. Sources mentioned that Secretary Information Muhammed Azam, currently grade-21 officer, will be promoted to grade-22 from Information Group.
 He will be the first officer of information group who would be getting grade-22 after several years. The last high-powered board was held in January this year and it promoted nine officers into grade-22.
