LAHORE - A man shot down his brother-in-law outside the civil courts, after his wife filed for divorce yesterday.
Police said Rizwan opened fire at his brother-in-law Hashim after his wife refused to go with him.
The incident happened at the parking stand of Aiwan-i-Adl, where both the siblings were about to leave the court premises.
People at the shooting site were gripped by panic and fear. Police and rescuers reached the spot and shifted Hashim to Mayo Hospital where he expired.
Court officials said Ishrat Bano had filed dissolution of marriage suit as she did not want to live with her husband.
She was attending courts proceedings for last few months.
Initially the case was fixed before civil judge Muhammad Afzal but later an application was moved to change the case.
