Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will return to Pakistan today, Waqt News reported.

According to reports his plane will land at Islamabad Airport at 9pm tonight. All federal ministers are in Islamabad to welcome PM back from London, reports add.

PM Nawaz Sharif is returning after being given permission to travel by the doctors.

PM was in London for a medical checkup. The timing of his visit became a source of speculation as he went to UK right after Panama Leaks.

Before heading towards the airport the PM dispelled rumours regarding extending his UK visit and asserted that he feels healthy.

“I feel much better now and with your prayers I hope I will remain healthy,” Nawaz told the media outside his UK residence, adding that he will start working for the revival of Pakistan’s economy again as soon as he returns home.

When asked about PTI chairman Imran Khan’s plans regarding protests and sit-in over the Panama leaks Nawaz said he hoped Imran Khan “desires Pakistan’s progress as much as every common Pakistani does.”

The PM said Pakistan needs peace and stability for economic progress and that the masses have rejected negative politics. “Pakistanis want peace and stability, instead of the politics of sit-ins,” he said.

Regarding Panama Leaks investigation, the PM said a commission will soon be formed to probe the allegations.

The PM and his family have been named in the Panama Papers as possessing offshore companies in the tax haven. He and his family are under severe pressure by the opposition after the leaks with the business of his sons and assets abroad being scrutinised.

Although the PM has ordered to establish a Judicial Commission for investigation under a retired judge but the opposition parties, especially PTI, have refused to accept it and demanded for a commission under the Chief Justice of Supreme Court.
