The CPPA, in its petition said that total generation from hydel sources was 872.44 GWh, which accounted for 9.98 percent of total generation.
In February 1356.59 GWh electricity was generated which accounts for 19.44 percent of total generation.
The hydel generation was reduced after reduction in water releases from Tarbella and Mangla.
The CPPA purchased 1410.35 GWh Residual Fuel Oil (RFO) based electricity produced at a cost of Rs10.8303 per unit and its share was 16.14 per cent of total generation.
Last month 581.39 GWh Residual Fuel Oil (RFO) based electricity was produced at a cost of Rs 10.16 per unit and its share is 8.33 per cent of total generation,
The total share of gas based electricity was 1860.06 GWh accounting for 21.26 per cent of total generation and its cost of electricity was Rs 4.7544 per unit.
In February total share of gas based electricity was 1672.87 GWh accounting for 23.97 per cent of total generation.
According the data, in March the electricity generated from RLNG was 2126.06 GWh making it 24.32 percent of total generation, at a cost of Rs 8.8538 per unit.
Last month the electricity generated from RLNG was 1340.07 GWh making a 19.20 percent of total generation.
The Nuclear power plants contributed 786.18 GWh of electricity, which was 8.99 percent of total generation, with a cost of Rs 1.0432 per unit. The electricity imported from Iran was 42.17 GWh at a price of Rs 11.05 per unit and its total share in generation was 0.48 percent. Baggasse based electricity contributed 91.09 GWh at cost of Rs 6.1719.Similarly from Wind 149.25 GWh and Solar 70.88 GWh electricity was generated.
Interestingly CPPA, in its petition said that it had not purchased any HSD based electricity during the March.
In February it has purchased 0.77 MW electricity generated on High Speed Diesel (HSD) which accounted for 0.01 per cent of total supply at cost of Rs 14.18 per unit.
On the basis of the above data the CPPA has proposed an increase of Rs 0.4437/kWh over the reference fuel charges i.e Rs 6.6429/kWh for the month of March. The Nepra will conduct hearing on the petition on April 24.
