In a round table conference of Kashmiri leadership demanded for appointment of a special envoy by the UN to hasten peace process in South Asia. According to Kashmir Media Service, World Kashmir Freedom Movement organized the conference in London, Participants of the conference included Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai, Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl, Dr Ghulam Nabi Mir and Nazir Ahmed Qureshi. Meanwhile in occupied Kashmir, illegally detained senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmed Shah has called upon India to give up intransigence and come forward in a serious manner to resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with Kashmiris aspirations. Shabbir Ahmed Shah was reacting to a recent statement of Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh on Kashmir. He said that Kashmiris were striving to secure their right to self-determination and they would continue their struggle till its logical conclusion. Syed Ali Gilani in a statement appealed to the people to hold demonstrations on Friday to protest against the assertion of Indian Prime Minister. On the other hand, one Special Police Officer of Indian police was killed at Marmat in Doda while another was injured in Gandoh area in separate attacks.
