Ramadan is the month of worship and sacrifice but, unfortunately, our traders resort to hoarding and creating artificial scarcity in this month so that they could make huge profit by increasing prices. This attitude of traders and businessmen is totally against the teachings of Islam. The government must take severe action against these profiteers, hoarders, wholesalers and retailers. They must be punished according to law. The Chief justice of Lahore high court has recently taken suo moto action against the shortage of sugar in the market that has caused a spike in prices.
