A legend likely to grow with situation

The people of Balochistan have never been willing to come out of the cage their Sardars have made for them. Centuries of slavery and bondage has made them lethargic to the point of being resigned to their fate. They feel contented with their lot and are self-subjugated to the feudal lords for whatever they feed them. You would be surprised to know that the people in Nawab Akbar Bugtis domain thought he possessed spiritual powers and might of 40 mystics. The Imams in the mosques of his territory used to spread this myth to consolidate his grip on the area. The people of Balochistan had been offered employment many a time in development projects initiated during the Musharraf regime but the Baloch people rejected it because their lords and masters wanted them to serve nobody but them. In Chamalang and other such projects, the journalists have recently given an account of how a large ratio of workers consists of mostly Afghans, Pakhtuns and Punjabis. The number of Baloch workers is far less than others. Likewise in universities, schools and colleges in the province, teachers from Punjab are in majority which the BLA, BRA and other terrorist organizations are now poised to kill. -NEELAM QURESHI, Rawalpindi, August 17.
