JI welcomes Kayani’s statement

LAHORE - Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Syed Munawar Hassan has welcomed Army Chief Gen Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani’s statement ruling out joint operation in North Waziristan and termed it in line with the national aspirations.
He has expressed the hope that the armed forces would foil all conspiracies against the country’s geographical and ideological boundaries being hatched by anti-state elements. He said this while addressing a ceremony marking the conclusion of the Holy Quran in Taraweeh at the Mansoora mosque.
Munawar said that the US claims of pulling out from Afghanistan by 2014 were false as it was planning to have a permanent stay in the area, as was also evident from the statements of different US officials visiting the area. The US designs to curtail Pakistan’s influence in the region and increase India’s hold were no secret. He said the US drones were violating Pakistan’s territory and killing innocent citizens every day in spite of Air Force’s ability to shoot down the drones.
The JI chief said the law and order in the country was poor whereas the Interior Ministry had failed to check the terrorist attacks in spite of getting prior information.
He said the world today needed Quranic revolution. This revolution could be brought about only by those imbued with the faith in the Quran and implementing its teachings in their day-to-day life. All those who were openly violating the Quranic injunctions and playing in the hands of Islam’s enemies could not bring about this resolution.
He said that the revolution was heading towards Pakistan from Egypt and Turkey and a change in the country in line with Islam was inevitable. However, the true change required enforcement of Allah’s commands and the Shariah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
