Federal minister Abdul Qadir Baloch, who belongs to ruling PML-N, has criticized Imran Khan, saying that he had no development program for Sindh and Baluchistan in his manifesto. Without commenting on PTI’s program, I have to ask the federal minister, what has the PML-N done for the development of Sindh so far? No doubt, during his last two terms (total period: about 6 years), he did not launch a single Mega Development Project meant to benefit Sindh.
On the contrary, Nawaz Sharif eliminated some mega development projects, launched by Benazir Bhutto (BB) in Sindh like Thar coal, Ketti Bunder, saving Indus delta – sixth largest delta in the world and setting up two coal-based projects there. Unfortunately, Nawaz Sharif Govt transferred the funds, earmarked for the projects in Sindh, to Lahore especially for the Islamabad Motor Highway Project. Even during his prevailing third term, Nawaz Sharif Govt has retained more or less the same regrettable policies towards Sindh. I suggest the federal minister should act as a democratic, educated and informed minister!
