Man found tortured to death

LAHORE - A 30-year-old man was found tortured to death from Shafiqabad on Monday.
Police sources said that the man, yet to be identified, was lying dead alongside a road in Karim Park as they reached the spot. Some passersby spotted the body and contacted the police by phone.
Police investigators said that there were visible torture marks on the body parts of the deceased. The body was moved to the morgue for autopsy. Police have registered a case against unidentified killers and are investigating to solve the blind-murder mystery.
Posting: Finally, the Punjab government on Monday posted an officer of Additional-IG rank as Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) to fill the post that was lying vacant since June 17 in the wake of Model Town tragedy.
Punjab Additional-IG (Counterterrorism Department) Muhammad Amin Wains was transferred and posted as Lahore CCPO on Monday.
Earlier, the government had appointed a few officers of the rank of DIG as CCPO in violation of the police order 2002. The Police Order 2002 says that only an officer of Additional-IG rank can be appointed as Capital City Police Officer (CCPO).
