A speech competition was organised by a private school in connection with Independence Day here the other day.

The competition was presided over by Alhuda Public School Director Malik Abdullah Jasra while Assistant Commissioner Ch Ahsan Ullah and DDO Education Sheikh Amjad Ali were chief guests on the occasion.

Assistant Education Officers - Malik Haji Muhammad Nawaz Jasra and Syed Nazir Hussain Shah Bukhari, Dr Malik Munir Hussain Kallu, Prof Malik Sher Rasool Borana, PML-N Youth Wing Sargodha Division General Secretary Malik Khalid Awan and a large number of people attended the function. APS Principal Malik Sher Ali Jasra conducted the proceedings.

Addressing the participants, the AC said that Pakistan was achieved after countless sacrifices under the dynamic leadership of Quaid-i-Azam. He said that some nefarious elements were busy in disrupting peace and wanted to push the country into chaos like what happened in Libya, Syria and Iraq. He declared that such cricked designs were bound to be defeated by the grace of Allah.

Addressing the participants, the DDO Education underlined the need for improving literacy in the country as without education the nation could not compete in the world.

APS Director Malik Abdullah Jasra in his speech said every citizen irrespective of faith was Pakistani and bears the national duty to save the motherland from all evils.

The APS Principal in his welcome address said that he was proud of the teaching staff and students of the APS that their support and discipline had given a rainbow touch to the institution.

Later the chief guests distributed prizes among the position holders of the speech competition.
