ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said yesterday that eliminating terrorism from Pakistan was the top-most priority of his government.

He was talking to a delegation of Norway led by its Foreign Minister Borge Brende here.

The Prime Minister said that Pakistan the ongoing military operation ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ had been a huge success in curtailing terrorism throughout the country.

He said that it has dismantled the terrorists' networks, which have resorted to hit soft targets out of sheer frustration.

The Prime Minister said after achieving a growth rate of 4.7 percent in GDP last year, Pakistan hoped to cross 5 percent growth in the GDP in coming months

Meanwhile, in a meeting with Minister Gilgit Baltistan, Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman, the Prime Minister said the people of Gilgit Baltistan has rendered great sacrifices for Pakistan, which reflects their passionate attachment with the country.

Contributions of the people of GB in the national development and prosperity are most praiseworthy, added the Prime Minister.

The Chief Minister apprised the Prime Minister on various ongoing development projects related to Gilgit Baltistan, during the meeting, said an official statement. He also apprised the Prime Minister on party matters of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) pertaining to GB.

The Prime Minister said the present government had initiated various developmental initiatives for the socio-economic development of GB.

He said he would soon be visiting GB to review the progress on different projects.
