LAHORE - The Walled City of Lahore Authority is holding an International Heritage and Museums Conference in collaboration with the British Council from September 1-3 at Alhamra, The Mall.

This conference aims at bringing together heritage and museum professionals from around the world to showcase examples of best practice as a step towards addressing some of the most pressing concerns of the museums and heritage sector in Pakistan. 

Speakers from Pakistan and from other countries including Exeter University, Outreach and Professional Development Qatar, Islamic & South Asian Art and Curatorial Team, Birmingham Museums Trust, Technical Design University of York York, Science Museum, London, Department of World Cultures, Scotland, National Army Museum London and others.

Representatives of Museums, Archeology and Culture departments from all over Pakistan will be invited by the WCLA in the conference. Along with these the local universities students and faculties will also be invited to attend the conference for learning purposes.

WCLA director general Kamran Lashari said that for the first time a conference of this scale will be held in Pakistan which will focus on the museums and heritage of Pakistan.

To showcase the rich heritage of Lahore we will be taking the participants to different parts of the walled city especially the restored areas and to the conservation projects.
