LAHORE - The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore and Critical Resources (CR) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for producing marketable safe food products according to international food safety standards.
UVAS Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha and CR Managing Partner Ms Laraib Zahra signed the MoU at the UVAS City Campus yesterday. Dean Faculty of Life Sciences Business Management Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad and Director External Linkages Dr Imtiaz Rabbani, Dr. Muhammad Hayat Jaspal and Dr Hafsa Zainab were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha briefed them about UVAS academic, research, extension services and training programmes. They discussed the areas of collaboration and enhancing cooperation in the areas of mutual interest related to marketable safe food production according to international standards.
Under the MoU, a brand will be registered for the production of meat and dairy products as per food safety standards. A production area will be configured by the UVAS to provide students theoretical and practical information about production processes and their applications.
The CR will set up a market management system and conduct activities with the UVAS assistance. The data collected by this system will be analyzed to help students and stakeholders to develop entrepreneurship skills of students.
Traditional Turkish foods will be produced, consequently contributing to Pak-Turk transculturation.
The Critical Resources will assist the UVAS train its faculty and students in meat processing and product development in Turkey.
