Lawyers have been target killed in the recent attack in Quetta. In fact, the terrorist responsible for the attack set a trap for the lawyers practicing in Balochistan. First the President of the Balochistan Bar Association was assassinated and when dozens of lawyers and news reporters gathered at the gate of emergency ward of Civil Hospital in Quetta, a suicide bomber attacked. According to latest news reports, at least 70 people have lost their lives and more than 100 have been injured. These mostly include lawyers and journalists. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and COAS General, Raheel Sharif, offered their condolences for the victims and vowed to take serious action against Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and other terrorist organisations operating in the country. Terrorism is the most disconcerting of our country’s troubles. Steps must be taken to counter it once in for all.
