LAHORE  -  Politicians, business leaders and people from all walks of life on Saturday congratulated Imran Khan on taking oath as Prime Minister and hoped that the country would soon be on path to economic revival.

"The newly elected Premier has the capability to resolve the challenges faced by the country," they opined.

PTI leaders Abdul Aleem Khan, Mian Mehmoodur Rashid, Aslam Iqbal extended their heartfelt felicitations to Imran Khan on becoming Prime Minister and said, his utterances in National Assembly regarding recovery of looted national wealth were commendable.

Citizens Protection Committee Chairman Touqir Ahmed felicitating Imran Khan on becoming Prime Minister said his (Imran)'s historic victory had not only raised Pakistan's stature in the comity of nations but also gave impetus to economic turnaround.

Anjuman Tajiran Shahalmi, General Secretary Kashif Bashir said business community believed that Imran Khan would introduce new economic policies in consultation with private sector that was main stakeholder in the country's economy.

A labour union leader Muhammad Yasin expressed the optimism that foreign investment would pour to Pakistan while country's economic relations with outer world in general and regional countries in particular would further strengthen.

Meanwhile, the Kisan Board Pakistan (KBP) the newly elected Prime Minister Imran Khan and lauded his statement regarding strict accountability of those involved in plundering country's money.

KBP President Chaudhry Nisar Ahmad and Secretary General Chaudhry Shaukat extended felicitations to Imran Khan while briefing the media about the decisions made in the KBP general  council meeting, held at a local hotel on Saturday.

The KBP demanded revolutionary changes in the agricultural policies from the upcoming setup.

Board's president said, "Agriculture is the backbone of country's economy and it is very much necessary to pay special attention to the betterment of agriculture sector".

The KBP demands include giving the sugar mills cane procurement receipt (CPR) the status of a cheque, abolishing GST on agricultural inputs, mentioning the prices of fertilizers on the bags, fixing reasonable flat electricity rates for agri tube-wells and ensuring support prices of the agricultural products.
