ISLAMABAD Chairman Public Accounts Committee (PAC), Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, has said that the PAC would review 15 cases of massive financial irregularities today Fifteen matters about financial irregularities would be taken up on Saturday, said Nisar said this while chairing the PAC meeting here on Friday. These matters would also be made part of the PAC report to be presented in the next session of the National Assembly session. During the meeting, members including Yasmeen Rejman, Riaz Pirzada, Aftab Shaban Mirani, Nadeem Afzal Chan and others also presented their recommendations for agenda declaration of the next meetings. The committee decided to take up 15 mega corruption scandals inter alia Defense Housing Authority (DHA), National Logistics Cell (NLC), Stock Exchange and other matters in its next proceeding of National Assembly session. He said that land allotment scandals would top the PAC agenda. The committee also reached a consensus that the PAC report about audit reports, would be presented before the NA. The Chairman PAC also directed the committee that Supreme Court be also requested to seek PAC opinion before giving any verdict. He was of the view that it would also be a challenge for PAC to look into the irregularities in the military and civilian lands affairs. During the meeting, Ch. Nisar also said that Pervez Musharraf was involved in massive corruption scandals. He said that the former President had illegally allotted national lands to retired civilian and defence services officers. He also talked about the irregularities in the lands of KPT and NHA. He asked the AG Pakistan to table audit reports of N-League government before the committee. He further said that heads of the departments, officials of the public sector organizations and some of secretaries have been allotted four plots each in urban residential areas. The Chairman said that his party would oppose DHA Bill in the NA as it aimed to extend favour to a few people. The Auditor General briefed the committee that audit reports of 1991-92, 1993-94, 1995-96, 1998-99, and 2000- 02 were on agenda of the committee. The chairman asked the AG that record of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) government tenures should also be reviewed thoroughly.
